So last night, after watching the LSU women’s team lose to Duke in the Final Four I put on the movie Proof starring Gwenyth Paltrow and Sir Anthony Hopkins. What a good movie. If you have time to pick this one up and watch it (run time is about 99 minutes) it’s definitely worth it. Especially for those of us in a Math oriented field.
The one scene, above all others that did it for me was when Gwenyth’s character was reaching into the fridge for a jar of Mayo and that idea just suddenly hits her and she has to quickly run back to her notebook to plug in this newly discovered idea. For anyone in the computer science industry I’m sure you can relate to this. When you’ve been staring at the computer screen for four or more hours, can’t figure this one thing out, so you go take a walk and once you are on the other side of the building it hits you and you make a mad dash back to your desk to plug in this missing piece of the puzzle, compile, Eureka!!!
Ok, I’m done.
